With over 12 years of experience from the private and public sector Morten is Chief Executive of the Danish Online Gambling Association, a trade association for online gambling in Denmark.
Morten is a master of law from Copenhagen University in 1999 and has served 12 years as legal adviser to the Danish State Lottery, Danske Spil, and later as chief legal adviser to the Danish Gambling Authority in the Ministry of Taxation.
Morten has worked with a multitude of private law, regulatory and policy issues. In his work for the Danish Gambling Authority he was involved in drafting legislation, issuing gambling licences and advising the government on gambling policy issues.
Most notably he played an important role in drafting and implementing a reform of the Danish gambling market in 2011 which included a deregulation of the existing monopoly on gambling and a deregulation of the market for sports betting, online casino games and poker activities.
Morten was during his time with the gambling authority engaged in international work and spoke at international meetings. He was furthermore involved in cooperation with other European regulators and served for a number of years as an officer in the executive board of the regulatory organization Gaming Regulators European Forum, GREF.
Morten received the award "European Regulator of the Year" from the association "International Masters of Gaming Law" in 2010.
